"It was a heart-wrenching experience to leave my friends and family and move to Canada. This song was a necessary catharsis of the conflicting emotions of emigration and really an explanation in some ways to my parents. I fly home as regularly as I can and maybe someday I will return for good."
SONG LYRICS
It made me write this letter
It made me write this song
It makes me wonder if someday, some way
I will wander home
It makes me feel so lonely
Like your long lost son
Searching to ignore or explore
before I can return
I know you need to try to reunite your own
If I had wings to fly
I'd be flying home, flying home
It's hard to think about it
Sometimes it's hard not to
As time goes by I feel more and more at home
Even though I'm without you
I know you need to try, to reunite your own
If I had wings to fly
I'd be flying home
Flying home, flying home
Tears have been fought back again
The yearning has begun
My heart lives in two worlds instead of one
It's time to take adventure, in this promised land
And I hope that someday, some way
You may understand
Well it's time to dry your eyes
'Cause I am one of your own,
Maybe someday I will fly
I'll be flying home, flying home
